Staff & Management

The Nursery is a registered charity and therefore run by a committee. The committee was elected by parents/carers and are responsible for:

  • Managing the setting finances
  • Employing and managing staff
  • Ensuring the setting has and works to relevant policies, updates these policies in line with Ofsted regulations
  • Ensures that the setting works in partnership with parents/carers

In addition, the committee organises and runs fundraising events for the Nursery to be able to purchase new equipment. We have to do this as we are a non-profit making organisation.

The setting is currently managed by:

•  Mr Brian Aherne Chairperson
• Mrs Alison Roff Treasurer
• Mrs Megan Naylor Secretary

Other members are made up of parents/carers of the children that attend the setting. These parents/carers are elected at the A.G.M, which is held in September each year. We very much appreciate parental involvement as this benefits your children in the Nursery.

Our Ofsted report our ratios are 1 adult to 6 children, this is higher than the recommended 1:8 ratio for over 3's (1:4 for 2 year olds) with a maximum of 24 children per session. We operate a staff rota system and post names of the staff that are in each day in the foyer. All staff are checked by the Criminal Records Bureau or Disclosure and barring system and hold up to date first aid certificates.

We  have French with Mrs Penny for thirty minutes one morning, this involves French rhymes and songs and some age related games.
